鞠躬(Gong Ju)是中国科学院院士,第八、九届全国政协委员。历任国家自然科学奖评审委员会委员、何梁何利基金科学技术奖专业组评审委员、陈嘉庚生命科学组评审委员会委员、国家自然科学基金委员会杰出青年评审委员会委员;中国人民解放军医学科学技术委员会副主任委员、中国人民解放军专业技术重大评审委员会委员;国际神经内分泌学联合会理事(中国地区代表,含香港、台湾)。自1987年起任《Neuroscience》编委;2002年应邀参加Nobel奖颁奖典礼。

主要从事哺乳动物脑下垂体前叶的调节研究,提出了哺乳动物垂体前叶受神经-体液双重调节的假说,修正了单纯体液调节的学说;脊髓损伤修复,主要发现有Nogo-A向细胞核转位现象,Nogo-66受体在胶质细胞间缝隙连接中的表达,成年星形胶质细胞逆分化为神经干细胞的潜能。

曾应邀赴12国46所院校作学术报告47次;在SCI杂志上发表论文117篇,其中第一著者或通讯著者论文被他引2258次(2004年底检索);2000年美国科学信息研究所(ISI)进行了一次调查,从1981-1998年18年间国际范围内有高影响的SCI论文共计76,998篇,全部由中国人在中国进行的论文计47篇,其中神经科学类仅有一篇,其通讯著者是鞠躬。

1985年获“八五”全军后勤重大科技成果奖、1996年获解放军专业技术重大贡献奖、同年获96年度“何梁何利”基金科学与技术进步奖。
